Sarah Shook & The Disarmers aren’t your everyday alt-country group. Dense country-punk arrangements and infectious melodies can’t hide the weight of North Carolina based singer-songwriter, River (formerly Sarah) Shook‘s, confident and unfiltered lyrics.

Singing of addiction, queerness, atheism, and divorce, Shook radiates in their newfound clarity on this year’s Thirty Tigers release, Revelations.

Their fourth album in less than a decade, has been heralded as “…an Americana rock ‘n’ roll masterpiece,” by New Noise, and “…an alt-country zenith,” by Paste Magazine.
