For decades, both legendary pianist MCCOY TYNER and the marvelous MODERN JAZZ QUARTET contributed volumes to the vocabulary of jazz music. Now, straight from the private collection of famed Montreux Jazz Festival creator and general manager CLAUDE NOBS, we have gotten more proof, if any was needed, that these performers were some of the best and most versatile players in the genre.

MODERN JAZZ QUARTET

The Modern Jazz Quartet’s The Montreux Years installment offers up a showcase of some of John Lewis, Milt Jackson, Percy Heath and Connie Kay’s most iconic Montreux Jazz Festival live performances, recorded between 1985 and 1993. Remastered and presented on gatefold 180g vinyl 2LP with brand new liner notes, as well as rare photos from the festival.
