UPDATE, SHOW CANCELLED – The New Pornographers Performing @ The Radio Room 7/30!

Sorry folks. we just heard that this show has been cancelled due to delays in construction at Radio Room’s new space. Bummer.

 

Written and recorded during the height of the pandemic, band leader and album producer, A.C. Newman, took a new approach to writing for Continue As A Guest. Listening to the bands earlier works in reverse and interpolating their unreleased tracks, as well as working virtually with bandmates Neko Case, Kathryn Calder, John Collins, Todd Fancey, and Joe Seiders, resulted in a more angular rendition of the polished pop they’re known for.

Exploring the loneliness and boredom of isolation, as well as the unhealthy overuse of social media to fill the time, led to a more sombre release than those prior (but who wasn’t at least slightly more sombre a couple years ago?). The Pornographers were still able to add their signature joy, however, even when discussing depressing and mundane themes, creating yet another feather to add to their acclaimed hat!

The Pornographers will be joined by Brooklyn art-punkers, Gustaf, on Tuesday, July 30th @ the Radio Room! Be sure to grab your tickets HERE!
