RECORD STORE DAY 2016 rocked as it has never rocked before, thanks to YOU, with a little help from PEARL JAM & ROSANNE CASH! Much love and appreciation to all who helped make April 16th a rousing success! We couldn’t have made it to 40 years without you!

ok, its now 4 days or so since the EPIC love-fest that was ‪#‎RSD16‬ here at our humble down south record store and i wanted to make a way too brief but intensely heartfelt LOUD THANK YOU shout out to everyone near and far who stopped in here, shopped, wished us well or just social media helped out. First and foremost our amazing customers, you know who you are and we love ya! as well our UNBELIEVABLE visiting artists pals: Pearl Jam and Rosanne Cash y’all both rocked our world and shared your world with us, we are so grateful and honored, truly. and last but not least i thank the dedicated and passionate staff here; long hours, big smiles, some of us been here years some had their first walk on shift noon on Saturday, wow. y’all rocked it for the peoples. In conclusion, it has been a long strange trip since we opened in 1975, but when things like Saturday happen, it seems worth it all; so here’s to the rest of the year, to whatever music keeps you going, and again, thank you to all… lets rock, some more

The look on Mr. Mike McCready from Pearl Jam’s face sez it all: You came, you saw, you shopped, you made our Record Store Day the best ever, and we love you!

We got some amazing love from you, our customers and friends, and some unexpected but quite welcome love from Pearl Jam (both in-store and onstage at Bon Secours Wellness Arena) and Rosanne Cash (ditto, at the Peace Center).

Miss Cash, Mr. Leventhal and staff.

Yep, we sure did get clobbered on Saturday (and Sunday), but don’t think we haven’t still got some good Record Store Day exclusives left in stock.

We’ve still got goodies by SUPERCHUNK, FLEETWOOD MAC, MUDDY WATERS, LIL’ WAYNE, LESTER YOUNG, & JOHN RENBOURN, not to mention compilations of vintage sleaze-rock (Los Alamos Grind). 60’s garage-rock (Nuggets: Hallucinations), psychedelic samba (The Rough Guide To Psychedelic Samba), and the lost rock & roll of Cambodia (Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten), among many other titles.
