The Annex
Welcome to the latest innovation in Horizon Record’s 50 Year saga and we invite you to check it out! As of NOW, The Annex is open regular hours 3 DAYS A WEEK for your browsing, digging, exploring pleasure. We built a spiffy new beautiful counter with our point-of-sale register all hooked up. Basically, thousands MORE RECORDS, MORE CDs, more to see and discover. Horizon Records in last few years been acquiring many music collections; some very big, and some a modest stack. So now we have our Annex housing this eye poppin’, mind expanding overflow of sonic goodness AND its open to visitors to shop, browse and purchase stuff as its stored, before it goes next door to our main store.
Prior to this writing The Annex has been used primarily as workspace for our growing used VINYL business and overflow blessing of used CDs collection. The space and it’s proximity to the store allows us to receive large collections; clean, sort and price them before they hit the racks in the record store. Now THREE DAYS A WEEK you can get a sneak peek and purchase recent arrivals before they hit the floor at Horizon. Since most of these records and CDs are in the process of being priced, Chuck or Justin give pricing on the spot to shoppers. Shelley curates the CDs (and we got A LOT!).
However, The Annex is more than a preloved VINYL & CD shop. We are also building displays of local music history as well as memorabilia from Horizon Records 50 years of business in Greenville. This is a work in progress so check it out as it grows and fills out the walls.
This is also a gathering space for programed events. Stay tuned for announcements that will include live performances, presentations and discussions on music as well as other topics that are of interest in our community.
But wait a minute, what about CLASSICAL music??
Yes indeed, in addition to the sprawling splendor of our deep offerings in Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Folk/Bluegrass, World Music, Hip-Hop and all manner of Box Sets, we are proud to offer one the biggest emporiums of Classical music on the east coast. The whole spectrum ranging from Renaissance era to 20TH Century Avant-Garde, VINYL LP and CD. The iconic Classics like Bach/Beethoven/Mozart etc to a massive collection as well of the fascinating obscurest names of by gone eras. All available for your browsing both in The Annex and of course what we have in the main store.
