AARON BERG has many musical guises, including the folk-hip-hopper MOUNTAINWALKER, but his upcoming intimate concert at the COFFEE UNDERGROUND‘s theatre on SATURDAY, AUGUST 23rd at 7pm is a stripped-down evening with Berg and his music.
“I am so excited to be playing for a small group of my hometown friends and family,” Berg says. Can’t wait to see some familiar faces and share some songs and stories with everyone at one of my old Greenville stomping grounds. I will be performing material from all my albums and potentially recording live tracks for a future for a future “South Carolina Tapes” release to follow my “New York Tapes” and “Nashville Tapes” archival album collections, (now streaming everywhere). Hope you can make it for this special show.”
“Genre-fusing outsider extraordinaire continues to raise the bar with his unorthodox sound …one of the most memorable left field projects you’ll hear this year” – Itoro Udoko, from Nashville Cream; The Nashville Scene
“A poet and a prophet on the mic…” – Adam Bradley, Author of Book Of Rhymes, The Rap Anthology
“Folk-rap troubadour Aaron Berg long known as an introspective folk singer with the electric band gets the freedom to stretch the songs treating the listener to a different experience.”
– Laura Blackley – Citizen Times – Asheville, NC
“Closing out the evening was return favorite, Mountainwalker…his sound is hard to pin down…his voice reminds me of The National’s Matt Berninger…also had a Kurt Vile storyteller aspect that was very cool. By the time they’d finished, I found myself looking up their discography…”
